Key Responsibilities:
- User Research: Conduct user research to understand user behaviours, needs, and motivations. Gather insights through methods such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing to inform the design process and ensure user-centric solutions.
- Wireframing and Prototyping: Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and user flows to visualize and communicate design concepts. Iterate and refine designs based on feedback and user testing, ensuring usability and seamless interaction.
- User Interface Design: Design visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces for digital products, considering both aesthetics and usability. Develop a consistent design language, including layouts, typography, colour schemes, and visual elements, that aligns with brand guidelines.
- Interaction Design: Define and design intuitive and engaging user interactions, animations, and transitions that enhance the overall user experience. Ensure seamless navigation and effortless interactions across different devices and screen sizes.
- Information Architecture: Organize and structure information to optimize content discovery and ease of use. Create sitemaps and navigation systems that facilitate intuitive user journeys and content hierarchy.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and graphic designers, to gather requirements, brainstorm ideas, and ensure design feasibility. Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, incorporating feedback and ensuring alignment with project goals.
- Usability Testing: Conduct usability tests and gather feedback to validate design decisions and identify areas for improvement. Analyse user feedback and behaviour data to make data-driven design decisions and iterate on designs accordingly.
- Design Documentation: Create design specifications, style guides, and other design documentation to communicate design standards and guidelines to development teams. Ensure consistency in design implementation across different platforms and features.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Graphic Design, HCI, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience as a UX/UI Designer or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or In Vision.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Solid knowledge of user research techniques and usability testing.
- Ability to create wireframes, prototypes, and user flows to visualize design concepts.
- Excellent visual design skills, including layout, typography, and colour theory.
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies and their impact on design.
- Knowledge of responsive design and mobile design best practices.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills to convey design concepts and rationale.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
